The Kinloch Club is the only Jack Nicklaus Signature Course in New Zealand and it has become one of the world's great golf challenges with its esteemed ranking by Golf Course Architect peers as a Top 100 Golf Course in the World (Golf Course Architecture - July 2013). Kinloch was also named among the top 10 new courses in the world by United States-based Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine for 2007.
It would be easy to become preoccupied with the views and clean green setting, but the golf course alone is why so many are making the trip to just north of Taupo.
Nicklaus proudly states that there is no one signature hole on his courses. He prefers to have 18 holes of outstanding quality, and that is something he has managed here.
If ever there was a serious candidate in the Central North Island to host a New Zealand Open or similar professional event, Kinloch is it.
